The University of Arkansas for Medical Science is in search for a Chief Perfusionist to provide clinical services.

The Chief Perfusionest will be responsible for preparing the daily schedule, assigning staff to the cases, preparing the call schedule, supervising staff, approving vacation, finding coverage (sick), monitoring and providing metrics for the Joint Commission, ensuring each staff member gets the appropriate number and variety of cases to maintain licensure, ensure staff stay compliant with licensure/certification, and manage supplies and equipment for Perfusionists. Will operate the heart/lung machine, auto-transfusion equipment, intra-aortic balloon pump, and provide cardiopulmonary support services. They will also provide services for intrapleural and intraperitoneal hyper-thermic chemoperfusion as well as isolated limb perfusion. Stand-by services for off pump cases, PTCA, and laser lead extraction cases, on hold cases, and ECMO management will also be provided. As well as service to open heart cases and double procedures. Will provide point of care testing when necessary and participate in quality improvement initiative. Also, will provide coverage for liver transplants, as well as interventional radiology for AngioVac procedures, and vascular services for thorocoabdominal aortic repairs.
A graduate from an accredited perfusion program and either board eligible (must gain certification within 2 years of hire) or board certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
Must be licensed in the state of Arkansas or eligible for an Arkansas license as a licensed Perfusionist.
3 or more years of supervisory experience.
