The Research Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the Office of Community Health in writing, evaluation, and documentation of work performed by the Office. Work will be completed consistent with the requirements of funders and publications where articles are submitted.

Salary: Negotiable


Performs grant writing, academic, scientific, and technical writing, including writing and editing reports and research articles related to community-based approaches to health care and health education..


Provides consultation to colleagues and partnering researchers related to data analysis, research design, writing, and editing.


Participates in preparation and execution of research projects, including writing/reviewing protocols, writing consent documents,  preparing data collection instruments, carrying out objectives of the grant.


Organizes and implements activities. Other duties as assigned.


Master's degree in health, business or related field plus three years of research experience OR Bachelor's degree in health, business or related field with three years of reserarch management and technical writing.


Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with strong problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure, both independently and interdependently.  Must have mature judgment, as confidential information is routinely encountered.  Ability to understand and analyze complex human subject research issues.  Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to follow oral instructions.  Ability to work under deadline pressure.  Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Arkansas drivers' license with current automobile insurance and reliable car for moderate travel to UAMS in Little Rock, AR and surrounding communities (mileage reimbursed at the current state mileage reimbursement rate). A state vehicle is not available. Occasional out-of-state travel required.
