The Research Associate will conduct cancer related sample prep and molecular profiling tasks under the direction of the UAMS Genomics Core Scientific Director and/or the UAMS Genomics Core Operations Manager.

These laboratory experiments are related to the study of cancer biology from members of the UAMS Cancer Institute. Works independently and may supervise more junior members with experiments. Duties include ordering all necessary supplies and ensuring they are received and stored properly; performing tumor/tissue sample prep, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other molecular profiling (e.g., microarray) experiments; recording, summarizing and presenting experimental results to the Scientific Director and/or Operations Manager; directing the work of junior lab co-workers, including problem-solving, experiment design, and management of equipment maintenance.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biology, or another related science; plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Biomedical Technology Lab or similar research environment.
