  • Overview

    The Surgical Scrub Tech assembles supplies for surgical procedures, maintains the sterile field, passes surgical instruments, and assists in room preparation.

    Responsibilities

    Schedule: Full-Time, Shift Varies.

     

    Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases. Preparation of the OR: Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for use.  Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy; independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits; Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases; Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects.

    Qualifications

    Required: Graduate or Pending Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program.  Must have excellent communication skills, strong work ethics, and accountability.

     

    Preferred: Current Certification and/or 1 year of previous experience as a Surgical Scrub Technologist.
