The Research Associate will assist the Center Director/PI and the project team of The Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention (The Center) in conducting research and developing or designing research protocols. The position will conduct research under the general direction of the Center Director/PI, and supervise Research Assistants and other project staff as needed. The position will provide statistical expertise in the design, evaluation, and analysis of the Center’s research studies as well as in the presentation and publication of research findings. The position will be responsible in training support staff and junior researchers, evaluating research findings, recommending changes in procedures and serving as the general coordinator for a project or group of related projects. Moderate vicinity travel and state travel. May require out-of-state travel.

(75%) - Assist the Center Director/PI and other faculty in the development, implementation and evaluation of research projects. Responsible for database development and support primarily in REDCap. Manage and coordinate data retrieval (e.g., MEDITECH, PHIS, Medicaid data). Perform statistical data analysis under the direction of the Center Director/PI. Work with and maintain communication with research staff on multiple projects across multiple campuses for the creation of uniform data sets. Assist with required NIH annual reporting. Assist with manuscript development and submission. Provide technical assistance to internal and external partners.
(10 %) - Manage project registration for The Center. Provide ongoing reports on Core usage and requested services such as productivity tracking and assessing need for new services and/or personnel.
(15 %) - Perform other program related duties as directed by the Center Director/PI including attending assigned program meetings and committee activities, and providing direct support (e.g. research design, sample size calculations) for junior faculty primary and pilot study development.
Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of research experience OR a Master's degree plus 3 years of research experience required.
