Overview

The System Administrator under general direction, provides second and third level end user IT support.

Responsibilities

Administer general System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) daily administration.  Create and administer advertisements, programs, collections, and custom reports in SCCM.  Troubleshoot failed SCCM deployments and SCCM health issues.  Administer SCCM software delivery, including various methods such as running advertised programs, machine targeted, Application Library.  Coordinates configuration and installation of Vocera server hardware and software.  Creates user’s groups, provides rights and training.  Implements hardware and software testing, fully documenting results.  Assist Emergin administrator with Nurse Call configurations within Vocera software. Microsoft BitLocker Administration and Monitoring (MBAM) administrators provide reports of encryption of computer equipment on the UAMS domain.  Computrace administrator are responsible for newly purchased computer equipment setup with geographical boundaries, set up notification of equipment removed from set locations, also provide reports on locations of missing equipment off campus.  Provides remote PC support and troubleshooting to assist first level end user IT support.  Provides status reports, problem summaries, and project status as required. Assist other technicians with daily operations. Remains up-to-date on emerging technologies that may benefit UAMS and compliment UAMS’ mission/goals.  This position participates in a group 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year on-call rotation where each member of the group takes call for 1 week at a time.  Reports frequently to CS VDI & IAM Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study OR High school diploma plus four (4) years of experience in two (2) of the following: Win Server Operating System Administration, Intel based Server Hardware support and repair, Active Directory Administration, System Center Configuration Manager, or Vocera System Server Administration

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a Research, Higher Education, or Healthcare environment
