(85%) - Performs laboratory experiments related to the study of myeloma. Molecular techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation and quantitation, qualitative and quantitative PCR and RT-PCR, next generation library preparation. Prepares and maintains patient samples for experiments.
(5%) - Orders reagents as required, maintains equipment in good working order
(5%) - Records, summarizes and presents experimental results to supervisor. Updates and files experimental protocols.
(5%) - Assist co-workers with problem solving, helps co-workers in designing and conducting experiments in areas of their expertise. Assist laboratory personnel in the use of equipment, ordering of supplies and equipment and other work related chores.
Decision Making - This person must make all decisions necessary for completion of successful scientific experiments in a timely manner. Must be able to approach immediate supervisor when needed for decision making.
Interaction - Interacts regularly with Director of the Division and other MI Faculty, and other members of the myeloma team.
Problem Solving/Accountability/Independence - Must be able to work independently and be held accountable for all data produced.
