  • Overview

    The Skilled Tradesman - District Energy System Operator will operate and maintain District Energy Plants each with concurrently operating boilers, including 750HP high-pressure boilers, 600HP hot water boilers, and 250HP hot water boilers using Direct Digital Controls(DDC) and manual operations. This person will operate and maintain District Energy Plants each with concurrently operating chillers with a combined capacity of 21,000 Tons using Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and manual operations.

    Salary:  $39,500 annually  (18.99 hourly)

    Responsibilities

    • Operate and maintain (2) District Energy Plants each with concurrently operating boilers including (5) 750HP high-pressure boilers, (3) 600HP hot water boilers, and  (2) 250HP hot water boilers using Direct Digital Controls(DDC) and manual operations
    •  

    • Operate and maintain (2) District Energy Plants each with concurrently operating chillers with a combined capacity of 21,000 Tons using Direct Digital Controls(DDC) and manual operations
    •  

    • Operate and maintain (2) District Energy Plants including (2) concurrently operating Heat Pump Chillers that result in approximately 3.6 million dollars in utility savings each year
    •  

    • Monitor District Energy System using a computerized building automation system to ensure patient/visitor comfort and maximize fiscal savings
    •  

    • Perform routine checks on equipment in order to comply with all State and Federal codes and regulations.
    •  

    • Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment across hot water and chilled water systems, including: control valves, temperature and pressure sensors, and flow controls
    •  

    • Operate and maintain auxiliary systems including: water pumps, water filtration systems, packaged air compressors, and cooling towers

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus five (5) years of  boiler & chiller experience.  High pressure boiler license required. 

     

    Lift 50 pounds, and ability to standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time

     

    Desired or Preferred Qualifications: 10 years of  boiler & chiller experience, Energy Management experience.
