The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a trained member of the clinic team who supports the on-going delivery of care. The RMA works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. The RMA will perform tasks and duties that will include but not be limited to providing direct patient care by checking and recording vital signs, assisting providers with minor surgeries, injections, lab tests and other office procedures. This person will document information related to a patient’s present illness, update medications, family and social history, diagnostic reports and other pertinent data in the electronic medical records. He/she schedules special procedures and physician consultations with appropriate referral information including prior authorization for commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. This person will maintain good working relationships with patients, physicians and co-workers. He/she will be required to float between both clinics (Springdale and Fayetteville). This position will require rotation through the night clinic.

High School diploma/GED and completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited program required. Must be a Registered Medical Assistant and must have a certificate and registration card validating RMA credentials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must have working knowledge of computers and electronic medical records.
