The research technologist position will be responsible for working on research projects and/or federally-funded grant projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The incumbent must work in an independent manner under general supervision governed by established research and institution policy. The research technician is responsible for data collection and data entry on a laptop computer. The research technician will coordinate and manage the schedule and activities of the Principal Investigator.

The incumbent will provide information on study objectives, activities, and constraints to the participants. The incumbent will complete all aspects of eligibility screening assessments, schedules interviews via telephone, obtain informed consent via telephone, and set up study records. This person will be responsible for entering and managing data and simple reports according to the research protocol. In addition, the research technician will communicate clearly using communication skills to engage the study participants in the interview process. The research technician must be create documents to present research findings such as PowerPoint. Monitor to ensure that all agreements made with federal and state authorities regarding human subjects in research will be kept in adherence. Monitor protocols, other programs, and the IRB. Manage follow up interviews and research protocols. Other duties as assigned.
The research technician will provide administrative support to the PI this will include travel, transcription, and grant submissions. The incumbent collects up-to-date CVs, publications, grants, patents, speaking engagements, etc. and maintaining this information in an accessible database. In addition, the incumbent serves as the point of contact for the reference manager database for the Principal Investigator. Responsible for site coordination, and other activities to promote successful administration and completion of the project. Duty areas will include working with UAMS departments providing technical and writing assistance, logistical details for project implementation, and assist with ongoing problem solving evaluating issues and developing potential resolutions. Participate in publication of research findings, and may be asked to present the research at scientific meetings.
