The Skilled Trades Helper will assist in performing tasks pertaining to a variety of skilled trades including carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical.

General Carpentry: Assist install and repair all styles of doors, frames, locks, and door hardware. Assist in repair or replace all types of floor coverings, ceilings, wall material and all wall protection. Assist in repair or replace all plastic laminates. Assist in install/repair furniture. Hang or install pictures, file holders, bulletin boards, keyboard trays, etc. Assist with the assembly of all types of furniture and wall panels. Assist in construction of cabinetry. Assist in hanging and finishing drywall. Cleanup of project work site as required.
General Painting: Assist in matching & mixing paint. Assist in prep and paint walls, ceilings, etc. Pressure wash walls, ceilings and floors as needed. Assist in hanging and finishing drywall. Cleanup of project work site as required.
Minor Plumbing: Assist in repair or replacement of flush valves, sinks, faucets, p-traps, water supplies, etc. Unstop clogged urinals, sinks, toilets, sewer lines, etc. Cleanup of project work site as required. Cleanup of project work site as required.
Minor Electrical Repairs: Assist with the installation of air ducts, air registers, etc. Cleanup of project work site as required.
Minor HVAC Repairs: Assist with changing receptacles, light switches, cover plates, light bulbs, light fixtures, ballast, etc.
Communications & Record Keeping: Must accurately complete all paperwork in a legible manner. Must have good telephone skills. Must be able to follow oral or written instructions. Must be able to communicate and interface with supervisors, fellow employees, employees of other departments as well as guests and patients. Must understand and adhere to all policies and procedures.
Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years general construction experience which includes carpentry, paint, plumbing, electrical, & HVAC. Experience in healthcare environment is helpful. Must have a current, valid AR driver’s license.
Additional experience in a specialized field such as carpentry, & HVAC, plumbing etc. is a plus.
