    The Access Coordinator III will meet, greet, and assist the public, answer telephones and/or coordinate appointments, referrals, consults, tests and procedures. tests and procedures.

    Salary:  Commensurate with experience


    • Registration of patients, patient billing, verification of insurance coverage and responding appropriately to the requirements of third-party payors.  Responsible for blocking schedules as appropriate, cancelling and re-scheduling appointments as requested.
    • Assist with hospital admissions and surgery scheduling as needed. 
    • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner, demonstrating effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information while maintaining strict confidentiality when necessary.
    • Conducts pre-registration as needed, inputs and/or updates accurate patient information.  Process walk-ins, create new patient charts, access systems for orders as appropriate.
    • Inventory, order, and stock supplies; clean and maintain equipment; pick-up and deliver mail to mailroom; ensure the waiting room is clean and stocked with educational information and coffee.
    • Issues school/work excuses; sends out no show letters; takes patient photos when necessary.  


    Minimum Qualifications:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent plus two (2) years of customer service or healthcare experience.  Computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone etiquette skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners required.  Medical terminology competent within three (3) months of hire. 

    Must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I and be able to support patient care activities as needed.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    Knowledge in basic medical terminology preferred; registration experience is preferred.
