    The Physician Assistant (PA) is a professional with clinical expertise in a specialized area of practice. The PA promotes an integrated, holistic approach to patient care by functioning as a clinician, educator, consultant and researcher. The PA is accountable for promoting harmonious relationships among the members of the health care team and a positive image of The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).

    Responsibilities

    • Daily management of critical and non-critical burn patients at ACH.
    • Assists with patient care both in the clinical and surgical settings. 
    • Performs assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems with burn patients.
    • Coordinate with Ambulatory Surgery and Scheduling of Surgeries.

    Qualifications

    Must meet licensure requirements for a Physician Assistant as defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board.  Must have a current Arkansas PA License (or eligible to apply). Previous experience in burn, critical care and trauma preferred.
