    In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, the Pathologist Assistant will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients.  The primary purpose of the Pathologist Assistant position is to describe and prosect routine and complex surgical pathology specimens under the supervision of a trained Pathologist, assist in autopsies, and distribute test requests to requesting patient care unit, facility or physician. The Pathologist Assistant works under the supervision of the Anatomic Pathology Technical Director.

    Salary:  Commensurate with experience


    The Pathologist Assistant is responsible for the following duties:


    1. Prosecction of surgical specimens and autopsies
    2. Performance of frozen sections
    3. Instruction of and assistance with gross processing performed by pathology residents and medical students  
    4. Administrative support in day to day gross lab operations
    5. Adhoc Projects as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.S.) in health sciences or related field

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Graduation from a program approved by the American Association of Pathologists Assistant PA (ASCP),  OR Eligible
    • Previous experience in Anatomic Pathology Gross Room or Morgue

    • Experience communicating clearly and openly and building relationships to promote a collaborative environment
    • Experience with accountability for one’s performance & taking initiative for one’s professional growth
    • Experience looking for ways to improve the patient experience
    • Engaged and eager to be a part of a winning team
