  • Overview

    The Project Management Senior supports the Development Systems Group in the UAMS Information Technology Division by supporting all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects, and provides a single point of contact for those projects primarily for custom developed applications and other third party software products and contract services.

    Salary;  Negotiable


    • Responsible for participating in the team’s work and task management of assigned teams.
    • Performs data collection and root cause analysis of barriers to success, and offers potential solutions to stakeholders.
    • Communicates clearly and often, as well as documenting, following, and enforcing approved change control procedures.
    • Drives and facilitates coordination of efforts required from technical teams, clinical teams, vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs.
    • Prepares status reports and adheres to all defined UAMS Project Management processes and procedures.
    • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation and closing.  Defines project scope and objectives.  Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets and status reports.
    • Conducts project meetings, publishes project agendas, publishes meeting notes and is responsible for complete and timely project tracking and analysis.
    • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
    • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
    • Follows advice and guidance of more senior project managers.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Clinical Healthcare, Business or related field plus five (5) years of experience in Project Management, IT, (or a combination of the two) that includes three (3) years of total combined experience in leading teams/projects - OR - Associates degree plus seven (7) years of experience listed above, that includes (five) 5 years of total combined experience in leading teams/projects.
    • Ability to work in MS Windows and client server environment with knowledge of information system software development standards and associated hardware resources.
    • Must be current with 1 of the following: Project Management Institute’s PMP (or other select PMI certifications), Lean, or Six Sigma Black Belt or hold a degree in Project Management.  PMI certification is required within 1st year of employment.
    • Ability to manage projects with systems and networks, as directed.
    • Must have experience with Microsoft products – Project, Visio, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Strong writing, collaboration skills and attentive to details are a must. 


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in field of study listed above and 5 yrs. Project Management, IT, or IT in a healthcare setting experience.
    • Microsoft Project Server, and ServiceNow experience.
    • Basic business & system analysis skills.
