  • Overview

    The Development Associate serves in a support role working closely with Development Officers and other Institutional Advancement personnel to further the mission and goals of UAMS. This position engages with staff, donors, volunteers and alumni to advance philanthropic relationships, assists in coordinating fundraising activities and provides day to day administrative support of development operations.

    Salary:  Negotiable


    • Interacts professionally and proactively with donors, alumni, volunteers and staff to further philanthropic relationships.
    • In coordination with the Director of Annual Giving Programs, manages assigned annual giving acquisition, renewal and stewardship processes.
    • Conducts donor research and engages with IA Prospect Research.
    • Develops presentations and writes, organizes and assembles gift proposals, drafts solicitation letters and stewardship reports.
    • Maintains current and accurate donor, prospect and alumni information including donor contact updates, contact reports and donor activities with UAMS.
    • Utilizes Advance and Blackbaud software systems including fund balances, donor profiles, and donor giving history.
    • Writes and prepares donor and volunteer correspondence including customized thank you notes, letters and holiday cards.
    • Researches, organizes and assembles proposals and philanthropic grant applications.
    • Assists with donor and alumni recognition and stewardship as needed including events, telephone calls, letters and reports.
    • Maintains donation/gift vehicles (i.e. gift forms, webpage giving sites).
    • Coordinates volunteer and alumni engagement in philanthropy including staffing and managing advisory boards, committees and special projects.

    • Maintain confidentiality of donor information.

    • Other duties as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
    • Two (2) years of Administrative support experience
    • Current, valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • experience in the healthcare, higher education, or non-profit sectors
