  • Overview

    The Instructional Development Specialist designs and develops grant deliverable educational curriculum, including course concept design and review; and assists with the management of the material within various learning management systems.

    Salary offered commensurate with experience.


    1. Develops educational content, objectives, and guidelines for grant deliverables.
    2. Uses adult learning principles to guide and support implementation of technologies to enhance education.
    3. Provides course development and designs consultations.
    4. Develops and produces teaching and job aides, educational technology training and other related tasks.
    5. Produces video and training modules and curriculum content
    6. Edits the learning management tool and guides others on how to use the system.
    7. Works with clinical and medical staff to create case-based learning activities for various grants.
    8. Advises personnel on best educational practices.
    9. Assists with training programs and seminars. 
    10. Assists department with limited graphic design support such as web graphics, flyers, etc.
    11. May perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Education, Communications or related field PLUS at least two (2) years of experience in Adult Learning program development, Instructional Design or related experience
    • Experience developing eLearning content for both large and small audiences
    • Experience with Adobe and Articulate tools
    • Video editing experience required


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters Degree
    • Familiarity with Learning management systems such as Blackboard or similar applications, teaching web-based learning, faculty development, curriculum development, health care education, case-based web-based learning, and technical support experience
    • Video editing experience
    • Broadcasting experience
    • Social Media Marketing experience
