    **Occasional Weekend Work Required**

    The Education and Technology Resource Specialist acts as the main contact for student laptop and mobile device support to help students with software issues, connectivity issues, updating laptops and/or mobile devices, etc. S/He works as a team member of the Student Success Center and will actively participate in technology related committees, action groups, and others as deemed appropriate and necessary.

    1. Provides end user support and assistance for student laptops and mobile devices as needed in the Student Success Center.

    2. Creates, implements, and evaluates face-to-face and online learning modules for students and staff on using technology in a medical education setting.

    3. Investigates new technologies and applications for computers, laptops and mobile devices and make recommendations as necessary for both students and Student Success Center staff.

    4. Maintains the Student Success Center public and staff computers and equipment and software inventory.

    5. Develops and maintains a cooperative relationship with UAMS Library Systems and UAMS IT.

    6. Helps maintain and update the Student Success Center website by creating instructional guides/tutorials, updating web pages, implementing new templates, troubleshooting issues with the website, maintaining a working relationship with UAMS Communications and Marketing about the website.

    7. Develops programs and other tools to help support the services and mission of the Student Success Center.

    8. Maintains the testing sign-in Access database and collects encounter and usage data for quarterly and annual reporting.

    9. Creates documents and handouts to be available online and in the Student Success Center outlining the use of new technologies.
      May perform other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other computer/technology related field PLUS three (3) years of experience in a computer maintenance, networking or software troubleshooting field OR Associates degree in Computer Sciences or other computer/technology related field PLUS five (5) years of experience in a computer maintenance, networking or software troubleshooting field

    • Advanced proficiency with computers (Mac, PC and mobile devices)

    • Website creation and maintenance experience

    • Excellent customer service skills
