    This position requires limited travel and occasional evenings and weekends


    The Event Coordinator serves as an event planner for Continuing Education (CE) activities for health-care professionals delivering evidence-based, interprofessional education.  S/He contributes directly to the achievement of the mission of UAMS:  To improve the health and health care of Arkansans.

    Salary offered commensurate with experience.


    1. Assists with planning with conferences and educational activities.
    2. Assists with coordination of all pre-and post-activity arrangements for educational activities.   
    3. Ensures compliance with the Joint Accreditation Criteria and Standards of Commercial Support of the ACCME.
    4. Travels to various locations for meetings and functions, as needed.
    5. May perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Education, Business, General Studies, Communications, Marketing or related field PLUS at least three (3) years of event and/or project management experience OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS seven (7) years of event and/or project management experience
    • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), computers and office equipment
    • Ability to work occasional variable hours to include evenings and weekends


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Marketing, public relations and/or graphic design experience
    • Event Planning for Continued Education activities



    • Strong organizational and event or project management skills
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrated excellence in customer service
    • Ability to work as a member of a team and build rapport with diverse groups of people, in a compliance-oriented environment
