    **Work Schedule for This Position Varies as Needed**


    The Public Safety Security Officer is responsible for inside patrol and public assistance.

    Salary: $11.02 hourly.


    1. Patrols on foot inside buildings and performs property checks.
    2. Performs safety screenings and runs metal detector.
    3. Provides assistance for anyone needing it on campus.
    4. Backs-up dispatchers when needed.
    5. Upon request, escorts employees and members of the campus population to their desired locations.
    6. Escorts patients from Outpatient Clinics (OPC) Holding Area to appointments.
    7. Unlocks buildings and offices when requested.
    8. May perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Be at least 19 years of age
    • Current and Valid Arkansas Driver’s License
    • Be certified by the International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security or become certified within one year of hire



    • Basic computer skills with a general knowledge of Microsoft Office software
    • Ability to communicate and maintain a good rapport with the campus population
    • Engages in and maintains control of situations/persons through use of minimal force needed in required situations
