  • Overview

    Classroom Tech Support Associate provides solutions to faculty classroom technology setup and problem resolution: audiovisual equipment, computer and software within the classrooms and off-site locations utilizing remote software or on-site visits.

    Salary offered commensurate with experience

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides faculty support and assistance of personal computer, audio, control panel, data projectors, and other technology software and equipment.
    2. Operates the AV Helpdesk.
    3. Tracks equipment usage and trouble calls.
    4. Assists the upkeep of classroom computers.
    5. Provides faculty support and assistance of teaching software and associated tools.
    6. Works after hours and weekend on-call duty every 10 weeks.
    7. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years of combined experience in IT Technical Support or Classroom Technology or audio visual system installation OR Associates degree in Information Technology, Education, Engineering or related field of study plus 2 years of combined experience in IT Technical Support or Classroom Technology or audio visual system installation OR Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Education, Engineering or related field of study.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Customer service experience.

    Certification - Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)

     

    Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

    • Work may require working on ladders, installing equipment and wiring on and above ceilings.
    • Must be able to place focus projectors on screens and set audio levels in large rooms.
    • Some work is in confined space.
    • Installation work may require extensive bending, squatting and lying down.
    • Required to be on-call and to respond immediately to trouble calls outside of general work hours.
    • Work occasionally may require in excess of eight hours per day.
    • Workload pressure will regularly subject incumbent to moderate to high job-related stress.
