    The Resource Coordinator is responsible for screening admission/transfer forms, facilitating patient admissions/transfers and ensuring patients are assigned beds based on established criteria and that patient flow is constantly monitored and addressed. This position works closely with Patient care units and all other hospital personnel to help assure patient satisfaction and provides support for staffing/scheduling operation of the Nursing units in conjunction with the CSM of each area.  This person assumes clerical activities by providing daily SOS sheets.  The Resource Coordinator collects, collates and reports data related to staffing levels, unit to unit pulls, advises CSM’s and directors of potential staffing shortages and works with ACH to ensure they are aware of times a pediatric nurse is need to accompany a minor for a test or procedure at UAMS.  This position adheres to campus, department and inpatient policy, procedures and standards and promotes harmonious relationships among members of the health care team, ADONS and staff as well as a positive image of UAMS Nursing Dept.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitors BedPlanning at all times for bed placement requests
    • Makes appropriate bed assignments based on established criteria
    • Makes timely bed assignments based on bed availability
    • Monitors bed availability, notifying supervisor of needs or of drop in census
    • Monitors list of transfers from outside facilities and makes assignments in an accurate and timely manner, based on availability.
    • Enters staffing changes in Insite based on established procedure
    • Monitors staffing level on all nursing care units, based on staffing matrix
    • Communicates with supervisors of units, RMO supervisor and ADON of all staffing concerns
    • Ensures placement of prn/float staff to appropriate areas
    • Communicates with ACH, following established procedure, scheduling of staff for pediatric patients
    • Provides information to Business Office related to incentive pay

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field OR High school diploma/GED plus 4 years office administrative experience. 2 years of hospital experience in an acute care setting. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office,Word, Excel and Outlook. Medical terminology, computer experience and excellent customer/guest relation skills required.
