    The Lab Support Technician II works under the supervision of the section Supervisor and Lead Tech and provides comprehensive support for patient care activities with the laboratory

    Salary offered commensurate with experience


    • Receives specimens from all sources, verifies test information with the specimens and checks specimens for mislabeled and unlabeled specimens
    • Loads specimens on the Chemistry and Hematology automation line and delivers specimens to the ordering station, and to performing departments
    • Scans specimens into the EPIC system, and re-label specimens as needed
    • Processes add-on tests and order test in EPIC
    • Resolves specimen problems
    • Reconciles clinic packing list
    • Processes timed urine specimens and Reference tests
    • Process mail-in specimens by ordering requested tests, labeling specimens and processing specimens received
    • Scans into EPIC (EPF) all requistions received
    • Answers incoming calls concerning results, faxing reports, proper specimen collection and test ordering
    • Performs other duties to support the patient care activities as needed and required to work a fluid schedule when needed
    • Other duties as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED equivalent and two (2) years of experience as a Lab Tech or Assistant in a Clinical Laboratory or 60 hours of completed higher education in a health sciences program.
    • Basic computer and data entry skills.
