    This position is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

     

    The person in this position will be responsible for leading and supervising the UAMS NW Family Medical Center Business Offices in Fayetteville and Springdale.

    Responsibilities

    MANAGEMENT OF BUSINESS OFFICES:

    • Supervises, interviews, hires, plans, and directs the activities of  the clinic business office personnel.
    • Establishes work schedules, assign specific duties, provide detailed instructions, and monitors employees.
    • Reviews work on a regular basis to ensure adherence to instructions, deadlines and proper procedures, delivery of services, training and work assignments. 
    • Assists in developing or revising policies, procedures, and directives based on needs of department.
    • Assists in long-range planning for department and implementation of new initiatives and changes.
    • Participates in leadership activities and attends required meetings.
    • Serves as Televox administrator and contact person.
    • Conducts performance evaluations on a timely basis and establishes employee goals and staff development plans.
    • Monitors employees’ adherence to policies and procedures and coaches and administers disciplinary action when warranted.
    • Handles problem cases and referral from management, provides information to patients and outside agencies and represents work units at various meetings.
    • Acts in back-up capacity for high level department activities, to include month-end reporting, collections, SAP, EMR schedule creation, and banking.
    • Works with staff to ensure that communication between departments is working efficiently.
    • Conducts monthly staff meetings to provide new updates and have open discussions.

    LEAVE APPROVAL

    • Oversees time and attendance documentation and approval for business office employees, and ensures leave forms are completed accurately before forwarding to HR.
    • Monitors employees’ clocking activities and reviews with employees as necessary.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or a related field plus three years of clinical environment experience to include three years of supervisory experience OR a High School Diploma/GED plus seven years of clinical environment experience to include three years of supervisory experience.
