    Schedule: Full-Time, Days


    Nursing Unit Coordinator provides administrative support to Hospital Nursing Management Team, prioritizing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities to meet deadlines. Adheres to campus and department policies, procedures and standards. Works collaboratively with members of the health care team and presents a positive image of UAMS.

    The Nursing Unit Coordinator works in collaboration with Administrative Services, Clinical Education, Nursing Management and their staffs, and Business Office personnel.  AAs are in regular communication w/ Human Resources, Environmental Services, Physical Plant, IT, Telecommunications, and Property Management. This position requires the ability to function with a positive manner in a high volume, rapidly changing demand for services and support. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have a history of working independently as well as collaboratively as a team member.  

    1. Must be able to deliver work accurately and promptly,
    2. Coordinate efforts in a professional manner. 
    3. Must be organized, able to communicate effectively, multi-task, and maintain professional office operations.
    4. Scans, organizes, and maintains unit personnel files.
    5. Data entry in various UAMS business systems to support scheduling, work orders, job applications, and employee competencies
    6. Prepares forms, documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence in Word & Excel. Collects, calculates, and enters statistical unit information.
    7. Assists staffing the Staff Education Front Desk
    8. Assists with special projects at the direction of Nursing Leadership.
    9. Schedules appointments, meetings, conferences, and special events.  Tasks include room reservations, agendas, packets, taking and transcribing minutes, and other follow-up as needed.
    10. Orders and distributes supplies for multiple units.
    11. Clerical support including distributing mail, filing, copying/filing, etc.


    Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Admin, and/or related field -OR- High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of Office Experience.  Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.  


    Preferred: Previous experience working with APX, SAP, Sharepoint, Power Point, and Access.  Previous Customer Service experience.
