  • Overview

    The Program Administrator of Education and Quality Initiatives ensures program criteria and standards and deadlines are met for the various initiatives. This position is responsible for administering the ABMS MOC Part IV Portfolio Sponsorship Program in order to maintain Sponsorship Status   S/He also plays a key role in ensuring quality assurance for accreditation processes in the OCE, participating in education and quality initiative management at UAMS, as well as assisting with conference management.

    Responsibilities

    Quality Assurance:

    • Conducts audit reviews to ensure compliance for re-accreditation with accreditation criteria.
    • Identifies areas of needed improvement, and participates in other quality initiatives in, or managed by, the Office of Continuing Education program.

    Program Administration and Leadership for the MOC Portfolio Program:

    • Ensures program criteria and standards are met, as set forth by the National American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV Portfolio Program in order to maintain ABMS MOC Part IV Portfolio Program Sponsorship Status.
    • Aligns quality improvement (QI) projects with the professional requirements for MOC; institutional requirements and priorities; available guideline recommendations and best practices; regulatory and accreditation criteria; and organizational and national health goals.
    • Provides oversight to support the MOC program and physician participation within the program.
    • Manages projects within the MOC program to ensure all goals of the project and reporting are met in a timely manner. 

    Program Administration and Management:

    • Acts as liaise, collaborates, and consults with professional peers, health care professionals, data specialists, and internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and coordinate and manage new educational initiatives.
    • Provides support for managed conferences as needed

    May perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in education, business or related field PLUS two (2) years of administrative experience.
    • Intermediate proficiency level with computers (MS Office Suite preferred)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Program Management experience

    Competencies:

    • Strong organizational and program management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
