    Location: Fayetteville, Arkansas


    The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) will assist in the delivery of high quality patient care within the UAMS Northwest North Street Clinic. The RMA will work under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager.  The RMA will perform tasks and duties that will include but not be limited to phlebotomy duties, front desk access coordinator duties, providing direct patient care by checking and recording vital signs, assisting physicians with minor surgeries, injections, lab tests, and other office procedures.  The RMA will directly document information related to a patient’s present illness, update medications, family and social history, diagnostic reports and other pertinent data in the electronic medical record.  The RMA will schedule special procedures and physician consultations with appropriate referral information including prior authorization for commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.  The RMA will maintain good working relationship with patients, physicians and employees.

    Salary offered commensurate with experience.




    • Prepare patients for clinic visits through the onboarding and check-in process; work with residents and clinic attendings to maintain efficient, high quality care
    • Prepare patients for check-out; assist in the scheduling of future appointments as needed


    • Welcome patients to the clinic; collect basic demographics and insurance information
    • Perform front desk duties such as answering the phone, directing patients, and modifying the clinic schedule


    • Complete new employee physicals and paperwork
    • Administer vaccinations as needed
    • Performing annual TB skin tests
    • Coordinate processes related to employee injuries
    • Maintain all necessary documentation and records


    • Perform phlebotomist duties and complete lab draws as required


    • Exhibit competency with technical skills and EMR documentation
    • File documents, scan and email documents, and collect provider signatures as needed


    • Contribute to the education process of residents and medical students


    • Perform all other projects and duties as assigned



    • High school/GED plus successful completion of medical assistant training from an accredited program.
    • Certificate and registration card validating RMS credentials. 
    • Must have a working knowledge of computer and knowledge of electronic medical records system preferred.
    • Must be able to communicate patient requests for refills, appointments, questions in a timely fashion via phone or secure text to the residents when they are not in clinic- and work with the clinic nurse to batch and triage these in terms of importance. 


    • One year experience in an ambulatory care setting
    • Phlebotomy certification
