    **This position is located in Lowell, AR**

     

    The Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) works under the supervision of the Schmieding Developmental Center Senior Social Worker with input from the Section Chief.  This position works cooperatively with all clinical and non-clinical staff in meeting the needs of children, and their caregivers, who are referred to Schmieding Developmental Center. This position will be responsible for providing clinical support to families in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

    Responsibilities

    • Will complete diagnostic interviews/psychosocial assessments to assist families in the development of an appropriate treatment plan and helps accessing resources.
    • Maintains follow-up/supportive contacts with those families who have demonstrated a need for continued support to facilitate their locating/assessing needed services through the transitional process to adulthood.
    • Will establish and maintain a working relationship as a member of a multidisciplinary team consisting of UAMS, Arkansas Children’s Northwest, and community agencies assuring the continuation of care for children by participating in staffing’s/meetings or providing documentation with up to date information regarding the child’s care.
    • Will complete appropriate documentation for significant contacts and actions on behalf of the child/family in a timely and professional manner in keeping with confidentiality procedures.
    • Will provide, arrange, &/or post educational opportunities and support groups for adolescents and parents.
    • Maintain Resource Database.
    • Maintain Resource Handouts
    • Interact with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills and communicate accurate and complete information.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.
    • Demonstrate positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments.
    • Follow the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
    • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.

    Qualifications

    Master's Degree in Social Work plus one-year of experience working with children and families in the medical, educational, and/or mental health settings. Licensed as a Certified Social Worker in the State of Arkansas is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Must be able to work successfully in an interdisciplinary setting.
    • Needs basic computer skills.
    • Problem solving skills & multi-tasker.
    • Effective communication skills both verbal & written.
