  • Overview

    The Paralegal/Contracts Administrator will work closely with all members of the General Counsel’s Office at UAMS. Position requires interaction with contract offices of external entities (e.g. universities, foundations, federal and state agencies, for-profit and non-profit entities) to ensure that research-related contracts meet the requirements dictated by federal & state law and university policies

    Salary offered commensurate with experience


    • Reviews and prepares for attorney, review of all university clinical trial agreements, research agreements, confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, grant agreements, contract amendments and other research contracts as assigned
    • Communicates and coordinates with external contracting parties, UAMS research staff and administrative personnel to process necessary contract documentation
    • Tracks contract progress through the review process and maintain the contract database with required documentation
    • Prepares documents for signature and produce final electronic and hard copy files of necessary documents based on university requirements; submit electronic records of completed contracts through an on-line award notification system
    • Attends internal meetings, involvement in project planning, project based committee work, and administrative functions
    • Assists with all administrative duties for the office including SAP, travel and maintaining legal/reference files


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in any field OR - High School diploma/ GED equivalent and four (4) years working experience in a legal office environment
    • Must have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and interpersonal communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous legal assistant, paralegal, and contract experience preferred
