  • Overview

    The Specialty Pharmacy Services Compliance Officer will ensure all regulatory compliance with state, federal and contractual agreements related to Specialty Pharmacy.  This position will also provide direct oversight of the various specialty pharmacy accreditation applications as well as maintenance of these accreditations including policies and procedures, quality improvement programs, reporting and other metrics.

    Responsibilities

    • Initiate and maintain specialty pharmacy accreditation to meet current standards set forth by accreditation bodies. This includes setting detailed work-flows, providing staff training, and setting deadlines to meet standards as well as policy and procedure development and maintenance.
    • Responsible for direct oversight that accreditation standards and policies are being met and maintained.
    • Coordinate with consulting partners and accrediting bodies to submit applications and all required documents needed to maintain/seek accreditation.
    • Responsible for training staff on work-flows and tools needed to meet standards.
    • Maintain an accreditation readiness program.
    • Act as a liaison between the UAMS Specialty Pharmacy Services and other internal accreditation work groups.
    • Maintain employee records in accordance with accreditation and university standards.
    • Work with data to support reporting metrics.
    • Cold chain testing and management.
    • Error reporting and assistance in developing action plans for problem areas.
    • Maintaining required logs for accreditation maintenance.
    • Responsible for all maintenance of accreditation including direct oversight and implementation of quality improvement projects and program, patient satisfaction surveys, and accreditation reporting metrics.
    • Chairperson of the Quality Management Committee.
    • Development of action plans as a result of improvement projects.
    • Responsible for executive summary reports to Chief Pharmacy Officer, pharmacy management, and Quality Management Committee.
    • Develop and maintain objective and subjective outcome reporting for the patient management program.
    • Source specialty contracts with payers.
    • Source limited distribution contracts with manufacturers.
    • Liaison between specialty pharmacy and university hospital contracting.
    • Support strong partnerships with payers and manufacturers to gain network or drug access.
    • Payer audit review.
    • Work with data personnel to support reporting.
    • Partners with legal to ensure entity protection.
    • Re-credentialing with specialty payers.
    • Committee attendance as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or a BS Pharmacy Degree  
    • One or more years of experience working in a pharmacy environment
    • Licensed as a pharmacist by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for licensure

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in the specialty pharmacy accreditation process or general specialty pharmacy experience
