    This position is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas

     

    The Community Health Advocate will be responsible for managing relationships with program participants and local community based and non-profit organizations and will track program progress and time-line deliverables to ensure the goals and objectives of the project are met.  The Community Health Advocate engages in a range of activities such as outreach and participant recruitment, participant screening and assessment, health education, care coordination/service navigation, and community education and engagement.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops, coordinates and manages relationships and communication with multiple community stakeholders and program participants.
    • Works with program managers and Assistant Director to ensure deliverables are being met.
    • Works with program managers to develop and deliver appropriate outreach and communication for project.
    • Frequently tracks and reports on program deliverables through effective utilization of program management software.
    • Identifies barriers and utilizes good problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in regard to participant relationships, ensuring all program objectives are met and data collection processes and procedures are followed.
    • Coordinates community outreach efforts through presentations and multi-media.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED plus two years of experience in outreach education or administrative experience.
    • Fluent in the Marshallese language and able to understand the Marshallese culture.

    This is a provisional position.  Provisional positions are funded by external grants or contracts with established end dates.  When the grant expires or is not extended, the provisional position will be eliminated.  Employees in provisional positions may apply for other positions at UAMS when their provisional position ends.
