    Schedule: Full-Time, Shift Varies. 

     

    The  Instrument Tech will be responsible for Decontamination; dis-assemble, clean (by hand and/or machine) in the Sterile Processing Department.

    Pool position 

    Responsibilities

    • Decontaminations; dis-assembles, cleans (by hand and/or machine) in the sterile processing department.
    • Assembles and packages, instrument inspection and testing, re-assembly of sets, places in proper containers or wrapping sets and loads/transports loaded transport carts with prepared sets.
    • Maintains record of loads and items being removed from department for processing, transports loads to and from CSS and prepares proper storage of instruments and equipment.
    • Uses and tests sterilizing equipment; performs dart and biological tests for autoclaves; performs diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer.
    • Records and accurately interprets results of tests; assist OR staff; helps locate needed supplies and equipment.
    • Needs good communication skills and ability to handle demanding and/or stressful requests.
    • Position revolves around serving the Operating Room (OR’s) sterile instrument and equipment needs.
    • Must understand the URGENCY of the OR staff’s requests.
    • Answers directly to the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certified Instrument Tech and/or 1 year experience as an Instrument Tech.
