  • Overview

    The Associate Director of Donor Relations assists with the coordination and implementation of all UAMS constituent engagement activities, with the primary objective of increasing philanthropic support for  UAMS programs and initiatives. The position requires an individual who has excellent writing skills, and is creative, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and well organized. The duties include donor and constituent communications, utilization of digital platforms and marketing tools, and involvement with campaign communications. The Associate Director works in the office of Institutional Advancement reporting to the Director of Donor Relations.

    Responsibilities

    The Associate Director works closely with IA fund-raising staff, including annual giving and alumni
    relations, maintaining an active number of projects to increase engagement across UAMS constituencies.

    • Contributes to projects associated with the comprehensive, institution-wide donor/constituent engagement, stewardship and communications program.
    • Serves as a resource for the IA central development team, including in furtherance of the donor relations program, impact strategies and objectives.
    • Coordinates and assists with the creation, design and management of documents, prospect research, and donor related information.
    • Contributes to the development and strategic information design and production of case statements, donor proposals, donor communications and impact reports.
    • Design and produce creative and customized stewardship materials and/or events.
    • Builds partnerships and work collaboratively with IA offices and campus partners to enhance the UAMS donor engagement program.
    • Utilizes industry best practices in the the development and design of digital constituent communications, donor recognition and stewardship publications.
    • Creates, maintains, manages and updates systems for tracking recognition of donors and engagement activities.
    • Provides written updates to the Director of Engagement on projects assigned.
    • Drafts letters as needed for constituents.
    • Manages and updates an engagement activity calendar.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of advancement/development experience - OR- Master’s degree plus one (1) year of advancement/development/written communications experience
    • Strong writing skills and demonstrative experience in design of creative and customized materials
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage projects, deadlines and expectations is essential

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Preferred degree in business, communications, marketing, public administration, public relations or related field
