  • Overview

    The Program Manager acts as a lead and liaison for education Programs and provides a broad range of support to the portfolio of education programs. S/He manages or co-manages Institutional Digital Health Institute (IDHI) events by assisting with attendance tracking, answering registration questions from participants, generating thank you letters to speakers of teleconferences, issuing CE certificates to attendees and reissuing certificates when requested from participants. The Program Manager maintains resource files on specific program administrative content, marketing strategies and continuing education requirements. S/He also communicates and conducts outreach efforts with health care administrators and board members to discuss the educational initiatives available for their facility. Availability for overnight travel to attend meetings and provide on-site assistance (5-10%).

    Responsibilities

    • Manages numerous programs independently as assigned with the ability to lay initial groundwork for new projects, programs and /or grant roll-out.
    • Conducts regular and special surveys/studies, compiles data, analyzes information, and prepares related reports for review and discussion.
    • Assists in project/program development and provides project-related editing and writing, project scheduling and reminders, and facilitation of time-sensitive project completion.
    • Coordinates internal and external personnel in activities to identify needs, problems and promote accomplishments of projects. 
    • Maintains the role of facilitator and troubleshooter to outside participants (rural hospitals, community clinicians, other state agencies, etc.) to promote a statewide IDHI network.
    • Designs programs and seminars to meet the needs of Continuing Education (CE) deliverables to appropriate audiences and will be responsible for teleconferences for these providers.
    • Coordinates education project components from concept and design to production and delivery [Components may include (but are not limited to) webinars, surveys, assessment tools, online and print resources, focus groups, advisory committee recruitment and management, presentations, workshops, and more].
    • Provides project/program status reports and briefings to internal management, collaborating with senior leaders, senior technical leaders, system engineers, and fellow program managers to help develop a strategic vision and goal for the organization. 
    • Designs learning programs applying adult learning principles and systematic instructional design to create online training content.
    • Develops lessons, assessments, exercises and other methods of learning.
    • Develops storyboards and scripts for eLearning programs.
    • Assists in original design or redesign of traditional courses into distance learning opportunities.
    • Tests modules for functionality, user experience, accuracy and data integrity.
    • Provides reports that include demographic data, assess knowledge gain, and provide evaluation of eLearning activities.
    • May perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree PLUS four (4) years of program manager experience
    • Three (3) years of experience in health education, education, reporting or equivalent field
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
    • Availability for overnight travel to attend meetings and provide on-site assistance (5-10%)

     

    Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following:

    • Master’s degree in Education or equivalent
    • Five (5) plus years experience in health education and training
    • Experience with constant contact, learning management systems (LMS) and knowledge of public health education principles and practices
    • Presentation or grant related experience
    • Previous Grant or manuscript writing is a plus
