  • Overview

    The Media Production Specialist [Education/Technology Resource Specialist] is responsible for activities related to production of digital educational materials for the success of teaching and learning. S/He serves on an Office of Educational Development (OED) faculty team to assist in the production of curricular materials for all UAMS colleges and the Graduate School and OED Programs. The Media Production Specialist assists in developing instructional materials designed for use in multiple delivery channels including classroom and online.

    Responsibilities

    • Designs and produces graphics, interactive learning objects, narration, videos, and PowerPoint presentations to support learning and instruction.
    • Participates in OED Departmental Projects such as web page management, development of promotional materials and teaching materials.
    • Assists faculty in posting material to the Blackboard learning management system.
    • Creates step-by-step instructions and training materials.
    • Validates copyright compliance in use of teaching materials.
    • Administers department website which includes proofreading, uploading, and maintaining content.
    • Provides technical writing, editing, and proofreading tasks.
    • Creates materials for departmental marketing and program promotion.
    • Refines original products per user specifications.
    • Takes initiative to research, troubleshoot, and recommend creative teaching solutions.
    • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and teamwork.
    • Maintains confidentiality of materials and communications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, computer science, graphic arts, or a related field
    • Two (2) years of experience in audio/video/graphics design or development
    • Documented experience in using digital production tools
    • Ability to use web development software to develop and upload webpages
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, SoftChalk and other educational software tools
    • Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills, and attention to detail

    Knowledge of good graphical interface design principles and ability to translate abstract ideas into concrete products using audio, graphics design and video software. Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain progress on multiple projects and complete projects with short time-lines.
