    Schedule: Rotating Night Shift

    Full-Time Position

     

    The Polysomnographic (Sleep) Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director or designee and provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders that may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education.

    Responsibilities

    • Gathers and analyzes patient information prior to sleep testing.
    • Prepares patients for sleep testing.
    • Completes sleep testing procedures.
    • Documents routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events, changing in procedure, and significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
    • Implements appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic interventions, such as continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.)
    • Scores sleep studies at completion of the procedure. 
    • Performs routine and complex equipment care and maintenance.
    • Evaluates sleep study related equipment and inventory.
    • May perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Graduation from an accredited polysomnographic technologist program
    • Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
    • Current CPR or BCLS certification or must obtain within three months of hire

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Two or more years of polysomnographic technologist experience
