Overview

The Senior Business Systems Developer, under direction, formulates/defines system scope and objectives. Develops and modifies procedures and software to solve complex healthcare business, patient care, healthcare regulatory, and medical research problems using state of the art and legacy software development tools and methods, considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, computer-user interfaces and form of desired results. Expected to perform project tasks such as software development, software implementation, application maintenance, application troubleshooting, software upgrades, software testing, and custom report writing, in individual and team member roles.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, Designs, and Develops custom healthcare software applications.
  • Determines system requirements with users.
  • Investigates existing systems.
  • Gathers data by interviews, etc..
  • Assimilates data.
  • Identifies and relates information flow including manual tasks and governing policies to determine inputs, processes and outputs.
  • Develops alternative methods of designs.
  • Completes system designs; set up data and finalize IT resource allocations.
  • Defines input and output data requirements.
  • Specifies system data profiles and master files and establish controls such as data and processing edits, calculations, statutory restraints on systems design such as production volumes computer time, and regulatory requirements.
  • Meets with users periodically to explain systems.
  • Suggests and receives system revisions and approvals from users; modify system designs to meet user needs.
  • Supports, tests, and implements custom and vendor business and healthcare software applications.
  • Creates required test files.
  • Analyzes test results and debug software operations.
  • Checks data for validity.
  • Assembles documentation, software narrative and testing approvals from users.
  • Performs application implementations by coordinating with various areas of the IT department as well as the user community.
  • Troubleshoots application issues and provide help desk support to users of these systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Mentors Junior team members.
  • Must follow all Development Department policy for professionalism, attendance, and work location.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study plus 5 yrs. experience in computer programming experience in one or more of the following: C ++, C#, VB.NET, Visual Studio, PowerBI, PHP, Java, or other web-based programming language includes one year of relational database experience in Microsoft Access, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle - OR - Master's degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study plus 3 yrs. experience in computer programming experience in one or more of the following: C ++, C#, VB.NET, Visual Studio, PowerBI, PHP, Java, or other web-based programming language includes one year of relational database experience in Microsoft Access, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle
  • Must be able to work from home. Office space is not provided after initial training.
  • The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects and to work closely and effectively with co-workers and end-users

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mobile application development using iOS or Android platforms and/or Robotic Process Automation experience utilizing UIPath or BluePrism automation toolset
  • Client/Server programming, Internet application programming, project planning/management or software training
  • Healthcare experience
