Post Doctoral Fellow

A Post-Doctoral position is available in the Enemark lab for highly motivated applicants to study the structure and function of helicase proteins and their mechanism of action on nucleic acids. The laboratory is located in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The department is highly interactive with extensive expertise and interest in fundamental nucleic acids processes.

Salary offered commensurate with experience

• Study the structure and function of helicase proteins and their mechanism of action on nucleic acids. 
• Under the guidance of the scientific mentor, performs research techniques including but not limited to protein expression and purification, sample optimization, structure determination, and structure analysis. 
• Attends and presents at national and international meetings and workshops. 
• With Principal Investigator, may mentor or train graduate students, medical students, or undergraduate students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Ph.D. or M.D. equivalent in a Bioscience or related field.

 

Knowledge,Skills & Abilities

• Protein purification, cell culture, proteomics, and general laboratory experience.
• Postdoctoral experience or relevant equivalent experience.
• Experience protein crystallography and/or cryoEM.
• Experience in biochemistry and a keen interest in structural biology.
