The Mental Health Professional at UAMS STRIVE provides direct clinical services, including but not limited to, diagnostic assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, collateral intervention, and crisis intervention to patients. Services are provided primarily in the office, community or home setting based on patient need and pay source permissions.  The MHP must meet a clinical productivity/service access expectation as set by the supervisor and the department.  S/He completes clinical and administrative processes and documentation in compliance with relevant policies and procedures; and participates in staff meetings, training, supervision, and continuing education activities as needed to maintain quality and coordination of care as well as professional licensure and/or certification.

Salary offered commensurate with experience.

• Provides direct clinical services that include but are not limited to: Diagnostic assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, collateral intervention, and crisis intervention. This also includes mandated reporting in compliance with legal and professional standards and guidelines.
• Provides Psychological Testing if licensure allows that is consistent with permission of their Professional State Licensure. 
• Completes clinical and administrative processes and documentation in compliance with Medicaid, insurance, Joint Commission, program, and departmental policies and procedures. This may include participation in administrative tasks such as medical record reviews, treatment outcomes projects, and program development projects in addition to direct-service-related documentation.
• Works with administrative support and utilization management staff as needed to facilitate scheduling, prior and continuing review authorization of services, and transfer/referral of clients to other programs as needed.
• Participates in regularly scheduled and as-needed departmental and program staff meetings, training, and supervision.
• Participates in continuing education activities as required to maintain professional licensure and/or certification.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field.
• Current and valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) from Arkansas Professional Board by date of hire.
• Ability to pass CPI Certification if required.
• Ability to pass Child Abuse and Neglect Registry check, State Police background check, and drug test.
• Ability to pass TB screening.

Competencies:

• Works with minimal supervision.
• Makes appropriate decisions related to treatment issues and mandated reporting independently, with direct clinical supervision on a weekly or as-needed basis.
• Maintains client confidentiality in accordance with legal and professional ethical standards.
• Accountable for meeting documentation and billing deadlines and standards as set by program and departmental policies and procedures.
• Reports to supervisor on outcomes of assigned tasks.
