The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Laboratory and Pathology Service Line is currently seeking a motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist II who will join this tight-knit community of dedicated and experienced team of scientists and technologists. The Medical Laboratory Scientist II will work in the Flow Cytometry Laboratory Monday - Friday during our day shift.


The MLS II will be knowledgeable of the principles and practices of processing, staining and analyzing routine specimens. They should be able to identify abnormal or discrepant results. Knowledge of laboratory chemical and biological safety and the ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment.

Salary offered commensurate with experience


  • Perform High Complexity Flow Cytometry Testing by analyzing blood, bone marrow, body fluids and tissues to screen for abnormal cell populations.
  • Perform Intracellular Cytokine Analysis.
  • Data entry of test results into LIS and appropriate information systems.
  • Instrument troubleshooting and QA/QC.
  • Perform new lot/new shipment validations of antibody shipments.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of training, QA programs and department protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biology or an ASCP approved discipline plus two (2) years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
  • ASCP or another accrediting agency certified.
