Research Services - Provides technical support, clinical care and serves as the research manager between research investigators and study subjects. - Manages regulatory management (e.g., submission of protocol, amendments, adverse events and continuing reviews to oversight bodies, maintenance of regulatory binder, etc.) - Orders supplies and equipment for conduct of studies. - Develops protocol documents, source document templates, case report forms. - Manages protocol monitoring and auditing visits, subject education, study closure.   Nursing Services - Works closely with investigators to ensure all procedures are performed in accordance with hospital regulations, standards of nursing practice, good clinical practice and study protocol guidelines, and assist investigators with day-to-day conduct of research/clinical studies.  - Conducts subject screening, scheduling, consenting and enrollment. - Conducts study related visits and procedures. - Collects and manages data, routine vital signs, anthropometric and body composition measurements, timed collection of blood specimens, intravenous infusions and medication administration. - Monitors and ensures compliance of subjects with protocol activities. - Conducts research surveys   Perform other duties as assigned.

- Provides language interpretation for the patient/family along with the interprofessional team in accordance with UAMS, Kids First and NCIHC guidelines.  Responsible for contacting patients as necessary to schedule and confirm appointments and other information as needed.  - Offers customer service to Kids First patients, families, and visitors.   - Provides patient and family centered care set forth by UAMS.  - Assists with other administrative duties as necessary. - Treats all UAMS employees with dignity and respect by demonstrating positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and other departments. - Demonstrates effective communication skills, communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. - Daily interactions by phone, documentation and person to person contact with internal staff, other departments and visitors. 

- Responsible for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, maintaining regulatory records for each study, and related research documentation for clinical trials personnel.  - Adhere to “Good Clinical Practice Guidelines” as defined by the Food and Drug Administration. - Help the physicians write protocols, consent forms, case report forms, source documents, SOP’s, etc. - Responsible for the scheduling of all subjects for research studies. - Assist in consenting research subjects and obtaining research related medical information on the subjects. - Capable of using EPIC. - Handle all advertising that may be needed for studies. - Responsible for processing and shipping any labs required for research studies. - Obtain IATA certification for shipping hazardous products. - Interact with the subjects, physicians, nurses, UAMS research personnel, and representatives from pharmaceutical companies. - Creating spreadsheets and databases to track subject and study progress. - Travel to Investigator meetings. - Perform other duties as assigned.

- Works with the management team in assessing the needs of the community and to help develop partnerships with other agencies within the community to work with the children families. - Assists with classroom supervision of children in the absent of the teaching staff and relieve staff for breaks and lunch time. - Works with the staff in regard to maintaining a clean environment. - May perform other duties as assigned.

The Patient Care Technician works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines. - Obtains patient report and has on-going communication with R.N. regarding patient care/changes in condition; Informs nurse of patient requests or complaints. - Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. - Transports patients to other areas of the hospital as directed. - Carries out the Plan of Care for Patient using a Multidisciplinary Approach as Delegated by Team Leader. - Communicates effectively with other team members to facilitate patient care. - Accepts directions from R.N.s and team members. - Follows through on delegated patient care activities. - Provides appropriate grooming/oral hygiene and comfort measures and assists patients with activities (ambulation, up in chair, turn and reposition). - Documents all patient care activities/tasks, vital signs, ADL, wave tests, I&O's accurately and timely and per unit and department standards. - Assists patients and visitors with information and/or solutions to problems. - Serves as resources person to support department members in performance of duties. - Notifies appropriate staff members of problems requiring prompt intervention. - May perform other duties as assigned. 

- Greets and screens all employees and visitors prior to allowing entry to UAMS facilities. - Monitors incoming staff members, contractors, vendors, guests, patients, etc. - Verifies employee identification badge. - Completes temperature checks on each person/s entering the facility by using a thermometer. - Allows entrance into UAMS facility based on results from temperature and/or basic questions according to established guidelines. - Provides masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at each facility entrance (if needed). - Maintains inventory levels for masks, thermometer covers, etc. - May be required to travel to various locations. - Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Clinical Services:  - Responsible for screening and identifying children with mental health needs; Meeting with parents and addressing concerns or issues; developing children's individual program plans. - Assists with clinical services as needed: filling in clinically when short staffed;  (i.e.  Assessments, crisis appointments, group, individual and family). Social Work Coordination:   - Responsible for assisting the director with oversight of the program's day-to-day function, both clinically and administratively: Overseeing staffs' work toward meeting the federal performance standards including meeting documentation guidelines;  gathering data and presenting it through reports to leadership as requested. - Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and revision of program policies and procedures as needed. - Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of training agendas at the program level, in addition to training new program staff. - Assists with the hiring of staff; and over-seeing the referral/assessment process. Supervision:  - Provides direct supervision to mental health professionals and mental health paraprofessionals (clinically and/or administratively) to program staff. - Supervision focuses on: - Quality of care issues, making sure the staff are competent/ skilled to perform their duties - Service access goals ensuring that staff meet job duties including but not limited to productivity standards that are set - Any other coaching/mentoring that may be required or necessary for staff development. - If selected for hire, respiratory student is to bring a copy of the respiratory school transcript to validate completion of one semester and one clinical rotation and sign the ‘RCI Statement of Eligibility’ to validate current respiratory school enrollment. - RCIs hired must complete ‘New Employee Orientation' modules and ID Badge before 1st working day on the unit.  - To foster professionalism, RCI’s are hired for a specific unit and required to work every other weekend to equal a minimum of 8 hours/week, 16 hours/pay period or 32 hours/month unless otherwise authorized by the Respiratory Care Director. - The Respiratory Care Managers are responsible for RCI scheduling. RCI’s request for schedule changes must be made to the Respiratory Care Director in writing prior to posting the two week schedule in the ‘Kronos’ scheduling system.  - RCI’s will be evaluated at 90 days and participate in an annual review with Respiratory Care Director. - RCI’s are expected to provide written proof, i.e., current Transcript or Grade Report, Registration or Formal Nursing Program Letter to validate active student enrollment to respiratory care manager within 30 days after the close of each semester..   - RCI positions expire on the last day of the month of graduation. If RCI accepts a full time Respiratory Therapist position, RCI may continue to work as a RCI until transfer but must complete a minimum of 32 hours/month. - RCI’s are hired for a specific unit and required to work every other weekend to equal a minimum of 8 hours/week, 16 hours/pay period or 32 hours/month unless otherwise authorized by the Respiratory Care Director. - The Respiratory Care Managers are responsible for RCI scheduling. - Schedules, reschedules, and coordinates appointments - Conducts pre-registration as needed. - Inputs and/or updates accurate patient information. - Processes walk-ins, creates new patient charts, and accesses systems for orders as appropriate.  - Conducts insurance verification and benefit explanation by running eligibility on patients, requesting outside records, and gathering outside medical records from referrals and files patient charts as needed.  - Performs inventory; orders and stock supplies; cleans and maintains equipment. - Picks-up and delivers mail to mailroom and ensures the waiting room is clean and stocked with educational information and coffee. - Collects and posts payments and issues receipts. - Performs ABN completion, schedules surgeries and/or tests. - Issues school/work excuses, sends out no show letters, and takes patient photos. - Responsible for blocking schedules as appropriate, canceling and rescheduling appointments as requested.  - Assists with hospital admissions and surgery scheduling. - Must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I and be able to support patient care activities as needed. - May perform other duties as assigned.

- Provides gross motor assessment and treatment using evidence-based techniques in a naturalistic, developmentally appropriate manner. - Reviews results of standardized scores along with informed clinical judgment and observations to make the correct diagnosis. - Translates the obtained information into a professional, typed document along with treatment recommendations, developing appropriate goals and objectives as related to patient’s needs. Confers with the Medical Director when necessary regarding said results/recommendations. Implements direct therapy for children, based upon findings using evidence-based techniques. - Continually monitors progress and makes modifications to treatment plan as needed. - Documents services provided in a professional, timely manner. Carefully, prepares and provides billing documents according to KIDS FIRST and Medicaid guidelines on a weekly basis. Verifies accuracy billing documents through careful review of progress notes, treatment room sign-out forms, and child’s individual prescription requirements. - Collaborates and communicates with families, other therapists, nurses, social workers, director, developmental staff, and contractors to provide the best quality of care and optimal outcomes for each child. Encourage families to take an active role in supporting their child’s development using the principles of Family Centered Care. - Supports the academic mission of the Kids First program. This includes participation in the training of students and pre-service professionals, education and outreach to stakeholders, families served, and community partners. May include training and participation in research projects or other duties as assigned.

The primary responsibility for this position is to teach at least two courses each year in the CAHME-accredited MHA program or the PhD program in Health Systems and Services Research; generate extramural funding to conduct and disseminate original research; advise and mentor graduate students; serve on college and university committees; participate in program assessment activities; and help ensure the success of our MHA program.   This position has no soft money conditions, but we do expect faculty to reach at least a minimum of 30% salary coverage within a few years of employment. An attractive incentive plan is available to provide bonuses for faculty who exceed 30% of their salaries from extramural funding. The Surgical Scrub Tech ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases.   Preparation of the Operation Room: - Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for use. - Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy. - Independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits. - Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases. - Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects. - May perform other duties as assigned.
